BINGHAM CHURCHES WALKING GROUP
The summer is almost over and the nights are already drawing in but there is still walking to be had and autumn weather is often very good.
The Saturday walk will be on September 7th, in the north of the county in the Clarborough area – as far as I know not too hilly. It will be an 8-mile walk with a picnic lunch. Not an area we have visited much in the past, so do come along and see what Esme has found for us. It’s not too far to drive either which is always a bonus.
Come prepared with coffee and your sandwich box and bring your boots and suitable clothing based on the forecast for the day.
Assemble outside Old Church House in East Street at the usual time of 8.55am to sort out transport ready for a prompt departure at 9.00am.
The annual Mystery Walk (at the time of writing still a mystery to the leaders! – about 2 miles maximum) will be on Tuesday September 3rd. Assemble outside Old Church House at 6.25pm to organise transport.
The last evening walk of the summer will be on Tuesday September 17th in the Lowdham area. It will finish with the usual supper – probably at the Magna Charta. Note that this walk leaves Old Church House at 4.00pm. If you wish to join the group for supper but will not be doing the walk, Contact details in September Butter Cross Magazine
Boots are always a good idea for these evening walks as farmland can be a bit muddy at times.
We are always pleased to welcome newcomers – you don’t have to be a churchgoer despite our group’s name – so, if you would like a pleasant sociable walk in good company in various parts of our lovely countryside each month, do please come along and join us. If you only want to walk occasionally that’s fine.
There are no membership fees. You are responsible for your own safety.
