BINGHAM CHURCHES' WALKING GROUP
A bumper bundle this month as this edition covers both July and August.
The Saturday walk, originally planned for July 12th, has had to be re-arranged
to July 5th but the destination is unchanged and is an 8 mile walk around the
Welbeck area
The Saturday walk for August is on the 9th and it also is 8 miles in the Trent
Valley area around Besthorpe.
In both cases we shall assemble outside Church House in East Street at 8.55
am ready to depart promptly at 9.00 am.
Bring your boots, coffee and a packed lunch – other waterproof gear very
much depends on the forecast.
The evening walks continue on Tuesday July 8th when we have a 4 mile walk in
the Southwell area – the planned walk from Westhorpe was found to be
too long for the time available in an evening. This will be followed on Wednesday
July 23rd with a 41⁄2 mile walk in the Gotham & West Leake area.
Tuesday August 5th will see us doing a 31⁄2 mile walk in the Stragglethorpe
and Cotgrave area while Wednesday August 20th is reserved for a trip to the
Welby Arms at Denton but with a 21⁄2 mile stroll around the reservoir
to work up a bit of thirst!
The penultimate evening walk of the season is the usual Mystery Walk – about
2 miles in length but can it be shortened or lengthened depending on the weather.
This will be on Tuesday September 2nd.
Assemble at 6.55 pm outside Church House ready for a very prompt departure
at 7.00pm for all of these walks. As always boots and the appropriate clothing
for the weather on the day are strongly recommended and we shall finish at
a suitable watering-hole for refreshments afterwards.
All are welcome to join us on these walks – families and friendly dogs
are particularly welcome for the evening ones. Transport is usually available
for those without cars but if you can bring one and it is not required it can
be left behind. We try to use only the minimum number in the interests of economy,
the environment and the pub car park.
