BINGHAM CHURCHES WALKING GROUP
There will be no Saturday walk this month as we are off to South Wales for
our annual Walking Weekend from Friday April 16th to Monday April 19th. There
will be a full programme of walks – both short and longer – led
by various people so it promises to be a super weekend. There will also be
the opportunity to meet up with old friends as well.
Those attending the weekend should have received their full instructions by
now but, if not, then contact Vince Hill without further delay. We shall leave
Bingham at approx. 9.00am meeting up at Hopwood Services on the M42 for coffee
and then going to our lunch destination at the New Inn, St Owens Cross in Herefordshire,
which will be followed by a short walk before reaching our destination at the
Tregenna Hotel in Merthyr Tydfil.
By popular request we are starting our evening walks programme earlier this
year and the first is on Tuesday April 6th, a 21⁄2-mile walk in the Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir
area. Note that this walk starts at 6.15 so assemble outside Church House in
East Street at 6.10pm to arrange transport.
The second walk is on Wednesday April 21st when we will do a 3 mile walk in
the Bingham area. This will also start at 6.15pm, so assemble outside Church
House in East Street at 6.10pm. No transport is required for this walk.
Don’t forget to bring your boots, waterproofs and fleeces.
The walks are open to anyone and transport is usually available for those without
cars. If you can bring one it would be appreciated, and, if it is not required
it can be left behind. As always we try to have full cars both for the sake
of the environment and to reduce congestion at our parking spaces.
If you have not received a programme this can be viewed at either the Parish
or Methodist churches, or contact Anthony Watts (875 968) to arrange for a
copy of your own.
